Biology 12

Today we finished off the notes on Cell Membrane and Transport by completing the notes on facilitated transport, active transport and endo and exocytosis.   -Check back to Monday's class if you need the notes or power point.  

Next we got notes on Enzymes with THIS power point.  We then worked on module questions for both these sections.

Today we worked on the Concentration of Sucrose in a Potato lab.  You should have completed the graph for this lab as well today.  Make sure you have your group's data and the class average data on the same graph.  More details about this lab tomorrow.    

Next we worked on the Module questions for the Cell Membrane and Transport Unit.  This should be finished for tomorrow.

Today we worked on the Solute Concentration of Potatoes Lab by finding the mass of 11 pieces of potatoes and placing them in different solutions of sucrose.  Make sure you bring your data table back tomorrow.   Next we worked on the power point and notes from the Cell Membrane and Transport Unit.   

Finally we watched the amoeba sisters video on Osmosis.  See worksheet HERE.

Today we finished off the DNA unit by looking at Biotechnology and Mutations at the end of the power point.   Next we worked on the module questions.  Those should all be done by tomorrow for the Module Check.   Finally we played a "FUN, FUN" game to practice DNA transcription and translation.

 Today we finished off our notes from Friday's power point.  Next we built a model of DNA replication using LEGO.  Module questions due for tomorrow:  Section A:  Structure of DNA (A) and DNA replication (B) NOT recombinant DNA.   Section B: Protein synthesis (A) and Features of RNA (B)

Today we wrote our Biochemistry and cell organelles unit test.  Well done you are practically PRO-Teens!  Next we took some notes on DNA with this power point.   We got the module questions for DNA and will work on those next week.   Spend some time working on those questions if you are concerned about work load next week.
