Life Science 11

 Today we started with completing the notes from the power point and completed the notesheet.  (See last day's post).  We took notes based on pages 4-7.  Next we finished off the lab on Qualitative and Quantitative observations.  Make sure you have turned in your textbook reflection and your scientific method graph.  

Science 10

Today we graphed our results from the "candy lab".  Check out the graph rules at the top of the blog.  Next we reviewed the scientific method and WHMIS symbols.  Use THIS worksheet and THIS worksheet to review.  

We also got our data booklets HERE and THIS data booklet assignment.  (NOT due though, start this next week)

Today we reviewed the Scientific Method.  We used THIS notesheet and THIS power point at the beginning.  Next we did THIS and THIS review of hypothesis writing and scientific method review.  Finally we did a lab on qualitative and quantitative observations of specimens.

Science 10

Big old lab safety review day and WHMIS symbol practice.  First we watched the video below and then filled in THIS sheet on all our safety equipment.    Safety quiz on TUESDAY, FEB. 2

Next we filled out the WHMIS practice sheet found HERE using the video below:


Finally, we practiced some scientific method and used THIS sheet to go over terms and steps of the scientific method.   Next we did a lab to measure how fast a candy coating would dissolve.

Life Sciences 11

Today we got our course outlines.  Next we filled out a student survey for me to get to know you.  Finally we played a name game where we learned a little bit about each of our classmates.  

Homework due on Friday:  Find a picture in the textbook that speaks to you for some reason.  Tell me the page number and why this picture speaks to you.  What thoughts, emotions or memories does it bring up?  This is due on Friday.

Science 8

 Today we worked on REVIEW for the final exam.  Remember a few things:

1. You can make a cheat sheet for the exam.   1 piece of plain, blank paper- hand written only

2. You will be given a periodic table and the tectonic boundaries map

3. BRING:  Calculator, pencil, eraser

Next we did the lab on page 301 looking at flow rates of different fluids.  We assessed the VISCOSITY of different fluids based on flow rate.  This is comparable to different types of lava.
