Life Science 11

 Today we took notes on Taxonomy.  Note sheet is HERE and power point HERE.  Next we watched the videos below.  The second one will help you make a dichotomous key for the creatures found on the shark worksheet HERE.   Make sure you have someone go through your key to see if it works!





Environmental Science 12

Today we talked about food sustainability and watched the video below to see how Las Vegas deals with its food waste.  Tomorrow we will go to the community kitchen to help make a meal from the food recovery program.

Life Science 11

Today we did a breeding bunnies lab.  Turn in your graph when you have completed.  Next we got another review for the evolution quiz- Coming up right before MARCH break!! On Friday!!.    This review is HERE and answer key HERE.   ---Make sure you view this in web version to see answers.

Below is a good video on the types of natural selection.  Don't worry about the term "Hardy-Weinberg" equilibrium, it just means the alleles are in equilibrium.

Life Science 11 (Bio 11)

Today we looked at the types of natural selection with THESE notes.  

Next we watched the short video on the 5 fingers of evolution. (5 ways that evolution can happen)


We also took notes from THIS power point and got THIS review.  Evolution Unit Quiz (Unit D pg. 32) is coming up on Friday, March 15.  


Environmental Science 12

Today we finished our Reflectivity Apparatus lab.  Next we watched a Zoom presentation by the UBC faculty of Food Systems, Nutrition and Applied Biology.  Tomorrow and Friday we will be out and about in the community!   Wear some good shoes for walking and proper clothing to be outside.

Life Science 11

Today we turned in our Evidence for Evolution worksheet we worked on last week.  Next we took some notes on Darwin's theory of Evolution by Natural Selection.  These notes are found HERE.  Finally we finished off our graphs and the questions for the Natural Variations lab.  The lab is HERE.   

Environmental Science 12

Today we made and tested our Reflectivity apparatus.  We came up with predictions about which natural substances had the highest and lowest albedos.   HERE is the assignment.
