We got the module questions for DNA and will work on those next week. Spend some time working on those questions if you are concerned about work load next week.

Today we started off with a quick review of our biomolecules using this worksheet. Key is HERE. Next we tried to solve the recent crime in Revelstoke by participating in the Macromolecules Murder Mystery Lab.....fun times were had by all! Finally we finished off the notes of cell organelles from last week. Module questions up to and including ribosomes are due tomorrow.

We did the Nuclei Acids section of Biomolecules (starting on page 4) as well as the Cell Structures A) Types of Cells and B) Cell Organelles up to and including i) The Cytoplasm

Today we finished off the biomolecules in the power point by focussing on Proteins, Lipids and Nuclei Acids. Complete part C in the Module up to Nucleic Acids (but don't do that part YET)........Next we watched good 'ol Hank talking about biomolecules. You will learn to LOVE Hank!!
Today we reviewed the structure of water and looked at how water molecules form hydrogen bonds with each other. Remember that we have a short quizerooo tomorrow on acids/bases and water. (If you are working at home you can take this upon your return). Next we took some notes on biomolecules and carbohydrates with this power point. -----Don't go into the protein section YET. Next we read the section in chapter 2 on biomolecules and carbohydrates and answered the Module Questions (from yesterday's post) to do Section C) Biological Molecules of the cell i) overview ii) synthesis and hydrolysis of organic compounds and iii) carbohydrates. Use the answer KEY to check your answers, but don't do this until you have puzzled through using the next book!
Today we got introduced to Anatomy and Physiology with a review of CHEMISTRY!! Yes, there is lots of chemistry (especially with the first part of the course). First we got the course outline....Next we answered some questions about ourselves found HERE. Next we took our first notes using this power point. as well as notes on water. Next we started our first module questions. Do these on your own sheet of paper, to help you learn the material. Tomorrow the questions on water, Section A: (A) and acids and bases Section A: (B) are due. Text pages 1, 2, 3, 4 are needed to answer these.
