Today we finished "The Microscope Lab" and turned it in. See Tuesday's blog for the link. Next we did the lab on Actual Size and Drawing Magnification. This lab is found HERE.
If you missed class, make sure you watch the videos below to understand:
1) How to focus properly with a microscope.
2) How the image moves and is observed when looking through a microscope
3) How to calculate total magnification
4) Know what field of view, depth of field and resolving power are
5) Know how to calculate ACTUAL SIZE and DRAWING MAGNIFICATION

Today we started with completing the notes from the power point and completed the notesheet. (See last day's post). We took notes based on pages 4-7. Next we finished off the lab on Qualitative and Quantitative observations. Make sure you have turned in your textbook reflection and your scientific method graph.
Science 10
Today we graphed our results from the "candy lab". Check out the graph rules at the top of the blog. Next we reviewed the scientific method and WHMIS symbols. Use THIS worksheet and THIS worksheet to review.
We also got our data booklets HERE and THIS data booklet assignment. (NOT due though, start this next week)

Today we worked on REVIEW for the final exam. Remember a few things:
1. You can make a cheat sheet for the exam. 1 piece of plain, blank paper- hand written only
2. You will be given a periodic table and the tectonic boundaries map
3. BRING: Calculator, pencil, eraser
The reviews are found below:
Intro to Science Biology Physics Chemistry
Next we did the lab on page 301 looking at flow rates of different fluids. We assessed the VISCOSITY of different fluids based on flow rate. This is comparable to different types of lava.

Today we mainly worked on the nerve impulse drawing found HERE. This is due in your double blcok. Next we got a review assignment for the nervous system. This is found HERE. The nervous system QUIZ is moved until Friday. This quiz will count only if it improves your mark, not if it lowers it. WIN/WIN for the team!!

Today we finished off the notes on the NERVOUS SYSTEM. Power point is HERE and notesheet HERE. Careful!! Not all notes are important. You are responsible for understanding the major parts of the brain, the divisions of the nervous system and the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems. Next we worked on the NERVE impulse drawing. That is found HERE.
