Environmental Science 12

Today we submitted our DrawDown Project Assignment.  Next we started off an Earth Day Fair project- we brainstormed a bunch of ideas that we thought would be good...... April 16th is the Fair.

Today we worked on our virus projects.  Make sure you have done the majority of the write up for this. Project is found HERE.  Some time will be given in class on Monday to finish off models.   Project is due on Tuesday and we have a virus quiz on Tuesday.  Virus practice vocabulary words are found HERE.

Today we worked on our Cells Project.  Also worked on Modules found HERE, which are due on Monday.  Answers to modules are found HERE.

Anatomy and Physiology 12

Today we continued working on our CELL project from last class.  We also worked on our Cell unit Module questions and completed the blood cells lab.  See previous posts for links to all of these.

Life Science 11

 Today we finished off the VIRUS unit with notes on the human immune system.  The note sheet is HERE and power point is HERE.  

Virus QUIZ is coming up on Tuesday, March 4th.  Virus Questions are due on Friday, March 28th.  (Question were posted on Monday's blog post)


Next we got a VIRUS project.  Build a viral particle!  This virus is due on Tuesday, March 4th.




Environmental Science 12

 Today we went to work at the community kitchen.  Great work chopping and baking and pouring stuff into containers!   We helped our community and drew down some greenhouse gas emissions along the way.

Today we finished off the notes on CELLs and ORGANELLES.  (previously posted).  We were assigned a Cell Analogy Assignment.  This is found HERE.    Assignment is due on Tuesday, March 4th.

 Today we worked on nutrient cycles.  Power point for notesheet is found HERE. (slide #33-49)

Next we did a carbon cycle worksheet and turned in.

Today we finished off (almost) our cell organelle notes.  The power point is HERE and the notesheet is HERE.    Next we did a little activity where we had to match organelles to their function.  This is available in class.  Finally we worked on module questions.  These are found HERE.  Do up to and including Endoplasmic reticulum.

Today we continued with our VIRUS notes.  We used THIS note sheet to record information from THIS power  point.

Life Science 11

 Today we wrote the unit 1 CELLS test.  Next we did some reading in the text book:  Read page. 22-24 and do concept check on page 24 #1-3 and on page 25 #1-4.

Anatomy and Physiology 12

 Today we started the CELLS unit by doing THIS power point (up to and including ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM).  Next we worked on the module questions found HERE (first page).  Finally we continued with our lab from last class.  The blood cell part of the lab is found HERE.   

Environmental Science 12

Today was the last day to work on the DRAWDOWN solutions project in class.  The project needs to be submitted on FRIDAY, February 28th at the latest.  If you need to look at a copy of the project, it is found HERE.

Anatomy and Physiology 12

 Today we wrote the BIG OL' biomolecules test.  When we were done that, we did some relaxing cell coloring.  Use chapter 3.2 and 3.3 for this.  Cells are found HERE, HERE and HERE.  Next we started microscope drawings of cells.  HERE is the lab and HERE are the rules for microscope drawings.

Today we did ALOT of practice for the TEST tomorrow on BIOMOLECULES.  We checked our module answers (posted on Thursday last week) and practice test (also posted Thursday).  We also did a biomolecule CHART.  Answer Key is found HERE.

 Today most of the class was away to UBCO.  Those of us who were here worked on our CELLS test review.  We did the practice test found HERE and HERE, (to be turned in) worked on the outline found HERE, and some people chose to do the extra cell organelle matching sheet (not required though).

Next we worked on a book assignment:  Read page 14-16 in text.  Do concept check #1-5 on page 16.  Make sure you do these in full sentences.

 Today we continued working on our BUFFERS lab from last week and turned this in.  We got back our WATER/ACID/BASE/BUFFER quizzes.  Make sure you find a time to take this quiz if you have not already done so.  Next we worked on our Module Questions found HERE.  These are ALL due on Tuesday, Feb. 18.  TEST on Biomolecules is on WEDNESDAY, Feb. 19th.

 Today we continued on our QUEST to be biomolecule experts!

First we finished off the power point found HERE (slide 24-30) and added these to our note sheet.  

Next we worked on the module questions on proteins and lipids.  Turn in the module questions you have worked on so far.

Today we started a long term experiment to gather temperature data.  How do different environmental factors affect the temperature?

Life Science 11

Reminder:  Friday there is a quiz on microscope parts and function and scientific method.  Scientific Method practice found HERE. 

Today we finished off the lab:  Using a compound microscope.  This lab is found HERE.  We turned this lab in.  Next we watched the video below on how to determine the actual size of an object using field of view diameter.  We started the lab found HERE.  We will finish this one off on Friday.

 REMINDER:  Quiz on Thursday on Water and Acid/Bases and Buffers.  Today we made two molecules of glucose and bonded them together.  Next we watched the first 7 minutes of the video below and took notes.  


Finally we did our module questions:  Do all of the Carbohydrates section:  a) monosaccharides.  b) disaccharides   c) polysaccharides
