Today we looked at osmotic pressure in capaillaries and movement of water.  We also took notes on the lymphatic system.  You should have all of Module A, B and C sections done for Wednesday.  Quiz on heart beat and blood pressure on Friday.

Today we reviewed Ferns and finished the fern lab.  Make sure you turn in the lab when finished.

Today we looked at heart beat, pulse and blood pressure and took power point notes.

Today we wrote a fun, fungal quiz.   Took some notes on ferns.......think about how they are different than mosses and did a fern lab.

Today we looked at arteries, veins, venules and arterioles.  We took some PP notes and then watched a short video about heart disease and a heart attack.  Poor John, we will find out what happens soon!

Today we finished off Fungi.  We went over Fungi Characteristics and Reproduction.   Make sure you do some studying for the Quizerooo on Friday.

Next we gathered some moss outside and got damp....... and did a lab on Moss.  Make sure the moss lab gets turned in before the end of class.

Today we wrote the Digestive System Test!!   Feeling like pancreatic amalyase

Complete the Heart colouring sheet (only ventricles and atria) as well as the major blood vessels assignment and READ through the pig circulatory system lab for Thursday.

Today we went to see a CRED (Columbia Mountains Region Ecology Discussion) Talk on invasive species.

Today I collected the microbiology projects.    We finished notes on Fungi........be ready for a fungal quiz next week.   (on Wednesday)

We started two labs on fungi.  One is on mold and the other is on Basidiomycetes (club fungi).

Today we had three presenters doing genetics presentations.

Next we started the circulatory system by looking at blood and doing a lab on red blood cells, white blood cells. 

For Friday:  Finish the Module Questions on the Digestive System and do the Digestive System practice test

Today we worked on our Microbiology Projects during first block.  During the second block we completed the protista lab and started the Fungi colouring worksheet.

Today we got back the microbiology tests.  Make sure you do your corrections by writing out the question with the full answer on a separate piece of paper.

We started the Fungi Unit with power point notes and then we had time to work on the Microbiology projects.  Bring any necessary materials with you to class tomorrow.

Today we got an outline of everything we are responsible for in the digestion unit as well as a digestive system practice test.  The digestion test will be on Tuesday, November 21.

Next we reviewed all the digestive enzymes.  Make sure you can list the enzymes in each step of the digestive system and what reaction they make happen.
