Science 10
This week we got our text books and data booklets and did a textbook tour and answered data booklet questions. Next we we introduced to the scientific method and took some notes on the steps in the scientific method. Make sure you can identify the dependent and independent variable in the scientific method. We did the bubble gum lab to look at hypotheses and relationships between variable........who knew you could stretch gum 26 m!!!!!
Biology 12
This week we have been working on introduction to scientific method, chemistry review and the buffer lab. We spent some time today on the lab tops writing up our buffer labs. Make sure you use APA formatting.

Today we wrote a quiz on Plate Tectonics. Next we worked on our Earthquakes/Volcanoes project. This is due on Monday
For homework, you should be reviewing for the exam. Use the following Unit Reviews in your text for vocabulary words:
Biology- Page 120-121 (Chapter 1 and 3 only)
Chemistry-Page 346- 347 (Chapter 7 only)
Physics- Page 232-233 (All except vision deficiencies in the eye)
Earth Science- Plate Tectonics notes and plate tectonics map. You will get a copy of the map for your exam.
Here is a practice exam to help you see the types of questions you could have.
KEY is here.

Today we did some plate tectonics practice in order to prepare for our plate tectonics quiz tomorrow. Make sure you can explain: 1) Continental Drift (and give evidence for it) 2) Plate Tectonics (and explain how it works) 3) The three types of plate boundaries and what features are created at them.

Today we wrote a quiz on sponges and cnidarians. Next we looked at flatworms and roundworms--and watched the video found below. Next we did some flatworm/roundworm Power point notes and reading guide. Finally we introduced the segmented worms by doing a worm dissection. Homework: Read page 322-324. Do questions #1-4 on page 334.
